This course is designed to familiarize law enforcement officers with the use of their own body mechanics and that of a subject(s) on which advanced defensive tactics may be used in order to control or secure. Objectives include blocking/striking techniques with combatives, controlling maneuvers, control points, use of a baton as a leverage tool, edged weapon defense techniques, and weapon retention techniques. The course will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Class size is limited to 20 officers.
