Background Investigations of Police Applicants

12 Hours

This course is designed to prepare law enforcement officers to produce a verifiable, chronological history of an applicant’s life. Mechanisms are introduced that use this information with other pre-employment screening devices in determining suitability for employment. Officers will learn to document facts in a similar manner for each applicant to ensure consistency and ease of retrieval. The course begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 5:00 p.m. on the first day. On the second day, the course concludes at noon. Letters of nomination are required. Heads of law enforcement agencies should direct correspondence and letters nominating their candidates to Dr. Cheryl P. May, Criminal Justice Institute, 7723 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
