This course reviews law enforcement encounters that lead to the search and seizure of contraband where the requirements for a search warrant may be overshadowed by other criteria. A review of pertinent court cases will be introduced illustrating situations where warrantless searches and seizures may be authorized. Areas of interest will include exigent circumstances and consensual searches. The course begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m.
