This course is designed to provide law enforcement officers, school personnel and security personnel a better understanding of the “potentially violent” or “at risk” student based on past school incidents and lessons learned from personal experiences. Course discussions will include using the triad approach to maintain the safe and orderly campus, types of weapons found in a school or public environment, unique hiding places on campus, and some of the signs to watch for when a student may be concealing a weapon. Using multi-media and static displays, the course will investigate all types of concealable weapons, both disguised and common in appearance. The course begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m.
