40 Hours
This 40-hour basic course is to provide newly appointed school resource officers with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively perform in a school environment. Students will be given a working knowledge of the school resource officer concept and how to establish a lasting partnership with the schools. In addition to classroom instruction, students will be required to develop and present lesson plans as if they were instructing in a classroom setting. The course begins at 8:30 and concludes at 4:30 p.m. each day.
