SRO Roles and Responsibilities

This course has been developed for school resource officers and school administrators working together in the school environment. Participants will be exposed to the Triad approach so to have a better understanding of the SRO’s role as teacher, counselor, and law enforcement officer. In addition, students will also learn the skills necessary to develop goals for the SRO program as they become more familiar with the responsibilities of the SRO. At the end of this instructional period the student will possess the knowledge necessary to serve as a school resource officer and maintain their primary identity as a law enforcement officer. This course begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m.
