Advanced Crime Scene Technician Certificate Program

Rapid advances in the forensic sciences require even seasoned crime scene investigators to attend education and training programs designed to provide updated information and new techniques and procedures. To enhance the knowledge and skills acquired by the graduates of our six-month program and continue our educational investments in their agencies and the citizens they serve, we are proud to offer Session VII of the Advanced Crime Scene Technician Certificate Program. This program will be available only to individuals who have received CJI’s Crime Scene Technician Certificate.

To attend, an application letter must be submitted to Dr. Cheryl May from your Chief of Police, Sheriff, Department Head or Director. In this letter, he or she should indicate how the six-month program (CSTCP) has benefited your department and how much experience you have acquired since graduating. He or she should also state that they will, to the best of their ability, ensure your attendance in all three (3) classes and provide you with the required photography equipment.

Applications must be received at CJI by no later than end of business on July 29, 2011. Chosen participants and their agency executives will be notified of acceptance into the program by August 16, 2011. Participants must successfully complete all three components to be awarded the Advanced Crime Scene Technician Certificate. A total of 63 law enforcement contact hours can be earned with the successful completion of this certificate program.

If you have any questions concerning the photography equipment requirement, please feel free to contact Mira Frosolono at (501) 570-8072.
