Internet Researching and E-mail

While the Internet has a wealth of information that can be beneficial to law enforcement, searching through the millions of documents available online can be overwhelming and time consuming. Learning how to conduct more efficient searches can significantly reduce the time officers invest in retrieving quality information from the Internet.

This course will provide officers with a working knowledge of Internet research and basic e-mail concepts. Major topics to be covered include: Using a Browser to Navigate; Using URLs and addresses; Using Boolean Logic; Using Favorites/Bookmarks; Using Search Engines; Sending and Receiving Email; and Sending Attachments.
A prerequisite for this course is Introduction to Computers, or have a verified working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and computer navigation skills.
