6 Hours
This six-hour course will review the
challenges of addressing racial profiling and address the fact
that police must do more to address the concerns of the minority
communities. Many states, including Arkansas, have passed
legislation addressing racial profiling. Racial profiling by law
enforcement agencies can lead to liability in a variety of ways.
Officers and supervisors must take a proactive approach to this
problem. American policing is facing a tremendous challenge: a
widespread perception that the police are routinely guilty of
bias in how they treat minorities. The course begins at 9:00
a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m.
