Ethics in Law Enforcement

6 Hours

Society expects all criminal justice personnel to be held to a “higher standard” than the general public—and rightfully so. Law enforcement is entrusted to enforce the laws of our state, county, and local jurisdictions, as well as assure protection of everyone’s constitutional rights—both the law abiding citizen and the criminal. This course will explore the ethical and professional behaviors expected of today’s law enforcement professional, discuss ethical scenarios, and suggest the means by which we can efficiently and effectively perform our duties and avoid civil and criminal liability. The course begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m.
