Police Internal Affairs

40 Hours

This forty-hour intensive seminar is designed to meet the needs of the newly assigned Internal Affairs Officer, the experienced Internal Affairs Officer who wants to update his/her skills, or the manager who wants to understand how Internal Affairs should work. It is further designed to take into account the needs of the small and medium size police agencies as well as the larger ones. Common types of officer misconduct will be identified and the mechanics of handling and investigating such misconduct will be introduced. Legal aspects of internal affairs investigations and the positive attribute of proper discipline will be explored. The course begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 5:00 p.m. each day.
