This course is designed to teach law enforcement how to
manage the interview and interrogation process. It will examine
the basic principles behind the psychology of interviewing,
behavioral information, identifying rejection, nonverbal
indicators, gestures and movements indicative of deception, and
statement analysis. The factors that undermine a successful
interview and interrogation will be critically explored. Theme
development, reasons why people do not confess, and the Reid
Nine Steps of Interrogation will be addressed. This course
begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. each day.
