One facet of this program is to provide a law enforcement liaison who promotes the year-round participation of Arkansas law enforcement agencies in Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs (STEP) and non-STEP programs. The Law Enforcement Liaison program promotes the participation of Arkansas law enforcement agencies in two annual nationwide traffic enforcement-related campaigns titled Click it or Ticket (CIOT) and Drunk Driving “Over the Limit, Under Arrest.”

In addition, the Law Enforcement Liaison conducts annual regional occupant protection/impaired driving conferences. These conferences promote increased enforcement of impaired driving, seat belt and child restraint laws, as well as promote participation in state and national traffic enforcement campaigns.
