Sexual Assault Investigation and Management Training for Rural Law Enforcement
The National Center for Rural Law Enforcement
(NCRLE) at the Criminal Justice Institute University
of Arkansas will provide education and training on
sexual assault to rural law enforcement executives
and rural investigators. This project is funded
through a cooperative agreement with the Office on
Violence Against Women (OVW) US Department of
Justice.
The objectives of this project are two-fold: 1)
present chief executive officers the opportunity to
develop or refine management knowledge and skills
that will enhance their agency’s response to sexual
assault and, 2) provide investigators with the
additional knowledge and skills needed to conduct a
more effective sexual assault investigation.
Rural Sexual Assault
Management Curriculum
The rural sexual assault management curriculum, Track I of the
project, will be delivered to rural law enforcement executives.
This management curriculum was developed in the initial Rural
Sexual Assault Curriculum Development Project (2006-WT-AX-KO19).
Rural Sexual Assault
Investigation Curriculum
The rural sexual assault investigation curriculum, Track II of
the project, will include the development and delivery of a
forensic intensive, hands-on sexual assault curriculum. The
curriculum will be delivered to rural investigators.
