Sexual Assault Training for Rural Law Enforcement Executives

The Sexual Assault Training for Rural Law Enforcement Executives is a 14.5-hour tuition free course designed for rural law enforcement chief executive officers. This curriculum will be presented in a way that challenges law enforcement executives to evaluate their agency’s current practices regarding the management of sexual assault cases. Information will be presented on the dynamics of sexual assault and the trauma response, a review of sexual assault crime scenes, investigative techniques, legal issues, such as consent and drug-facilitated rape, policy and procedures, media relations, a team approach to preventing and responding to sexual assault in the community, and a presentation by a rape survivor.
