Rural Sexual Assault Management Curriculum

The Rural Sexual Assault Management Curriculum is a 14-hour tuition free course designed for rural law enforcement chief executive officers. This curriculum will be presented in a way that challenges law enforcement executives to evaluate their agency’s current practices regarding the management of sexual assault cases. Information will be presented on the dynamics of sexual assault in a rural community, a review of sexual assault crime scenes, investigative techniques, legal issues, such as consent and drug-facilitated rape, policy and procedures, a team approach to preventing and responding to sexual assault in the community, and a presentation by a rape survivor. Session locations to be determined.
