Sexual Assault Training for Rural Law Enforcement Investigations

The Sexual Assault Training for Rural Law Enforcement Investigations is a 21.5-hour tuition free course designed for rural sexual assault investigators. This curriculum will provide information on the dynamics of sexual assault and the trauma response, first responder responsibilities, victim/suspect interview techniques, investigative techniques for stranger and non-stranger sexual assaults to include an emphasis on evidence potential and the documentation, collection, and preservation of the evidence, the roles of the sexual assault nurse examiner and victim advocates, and an interactive presentation from a rape survivor.
