Arkansas Crisis Negotiation Seminar
Hostile environments and crisis situations require that officers can diffuse potentially deadly scenarios with the least possible casualties. This eight-hour course is designed to provide law enforcement with the advanced tools needed to communicate with subjects as a trained crisis negotiator in volatile situations. Discussions will include a review of what to say and what should not be said; first responder negotiations; techniques for active listening; techniques for suicide intervention; and suicide by law enforcement officers. Emphasis will be on abnormal psychology theories. Recommendation for registration: Students that have previously taken the 40-hour Basic Crisis Negotiation Course.
