Communication Skills for Field Interviews and Officer Safety is designed to illuminate communicative behavior styles in both officers and subjects. An individual’s thought process influences his or her communication style. By recognizing common communicative behaviors, we can identify multiple subtle admissions, patterns of nervousness, uncertainty, and deception in everyday body language, tonality, speed and pace of statements and also word usage.

Participants will be exposed to why we experience good communication with some and extreme difficulties with others, how we can utilize our body language to illicit different levels of compliance and de-escalation, how to effectively obtain useful information during field interviews and much more.

This class is open to all certified law enforcement officers.
