This program is designed to provide a better understanding of ACT 423, the provisions made in this act concerning the training of law enforcement, the formation of Crisis Intervention Teams, and the establishment of Crisis Stabilization Units. The course will explore the need, prompted by ACT 423, to develop policies, procedures, and protocols for officers to follow when dealing with persons suffering from behavioral health impairments.  The course includes guidance for officer safety as well as the safety of behaviorally impaired individuals.

NOTE: If you have taken the 9 hour Behavioral Health and Crisis Intervention Response for Law Enforcement ONLINE class, then you do not need to take this class. This class goes along with the 7 hour Law Enforcement Response to Persons with Behavioral Health Issues ONLINE class to increase it to the new 9 hour requirement.
