Hostile environments and crisis situations require that officers are able to diffuse potentially deadly scenarios with the least possible casualties. This forty-hour course is designed to provide law enforcement with the necessary tools to communicate with subjects as a trained crisis negotiator in volatile situations. Discussions will include: What to Say and What Should Not be Said; First Responder Negotiations; Techniques for Active Listening; Techniques for Suicide Intervention; and Suicide by Law Enforcement Officers. Emphasis will be on abnormal psychology theories. This course is designed for all certified law enforcement officers.
