Managing Informants and Cooperative Witnesses
Police informants and witnesses can be vital to solving cases, building relationships with those who live in high crime areas, and infiltrating crime circles. Proper training is imperative for officers who will interview witnesses who are cooperative.
Managing Informants and Cooperative Witnesses will deal specifically with recruitment, documentation, motives, control, legal issues, pitfalls to avoid and other pertinent issues regarding confidential informants and cooperating witnesses. The supervisor’s responsibility in the utilization of informants by his or her subordinates will also be discussed.
This course is designed for supervisors, detectives, and all certified law enforcement officers who deal with informants and witnesses.
