This course provides basic meth awareness and safety education for Parole and Probation officers and first responders who may come in contact with a clandestine lab. Participants learn to recognize precursors, equipment, and supplies used in the manufacture of meth and gain an understanding of the unique hazards of clandestine labs and receive critical information that will reduce their chances of injury. Meth users/abuser profiles and scenarios illustrating safety precautions for home visits will also be included.

OBJECTIVES:

Discuss  the nature of the methamphetamine problem in Arkansas.

Identify and properly respond to clandestine drug labs.

Examine with methamphetamine production methods.

Recognize chemicals, equipment, and supplies used to make methamphetamine.

Identify how methamphetamine affects the body and behavior of the user.

Understand the hazards associated with methamphetamine production and chemical exposure

This is a 7-hour class.
