Officer safety issues are a concern for every sworn police officer. The law enforcement profession currently averages approximately 150 line of duty deaths (LODDs) per year. This presentation will explore the principle concepts of the “Below 100” initiative. Officers will be highly encouraged to attend the “Below 100” class that is built on the premise of reducing the number of LODDs to fewer than 100 in a year through safety measures. The course delivery will include small group discussions. Current trends around the country and studies of several officer-down scenarios will also be presented. This course is designed for all certified law enforcement officers.
