I hope this communication finds each of you and your loved ones healthy and safe!  Previously, it was communicated that, due to the COVID-19 crisis, CJI cancelled all classroom-based classes through March 30th.  Since our last communication there are several updates we need to provide you.

First, beginning Monday, March 23rd, the majority of CJI staff were authorized to work remotely.  While many of us are working remotely, access to our online courses continues.  We are still in operation and are here to help in any way we can.  Please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our staff if we can help you or your agency in any way.  You can reach us by still calling our office numbers.

Second, due to the continued spread of COVID-19 in our great state and the need to continue to practice effective social distancing, CJI classroom-based courses scheduled to be delivered prior to April 17th will also be cancelled.  Some of these courses will be rescheduled, but others will not in an effort to meet the recently required FY20 budget reductions for CJI.

While sessions of the School of Law Enforcement Supervision (SLES) and Crime Scene Technician Certificate Program (CSTCP) are scheduled to occur prior to April 17th, we are making every effort to ensure these program sessions will be rescheduled and in doing so, ensure all students currently enrolled in these programs will have the opportunity to graduate.  Please also be advised that given the typical size of the graduation ceremonies/luncheons for each of these programs, graduation ceremonies for SLES and CSTCP will not occur.  Members of our staff will be communicating directly with the officers and deputies enrolled in these programs about these changes and any other future changes.

This is unquestionably an unprecedented time for all of us, but together we will resolve any of the potential challenges.  Again, please know we are extremely grateful for all you do for your community.  We will continue to update you when needed.  However, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our staff if you have questions or if we can help you all in any way.

Please stay safe!!

Best,
Doc
