We have a few spots available for Session LIX of the School of Law Enforcement Supervision (SLES).

Our next session of SLES will be held September 11-15, October 2-6, November 6-10, and December 4-8 in Little Rock.

SLES is a distinguished four-week program that focuses on leadership and advanced management education for Arkansas law enforcement supervisors. SLES provides an excellent opportunity for law enforcement professionals to receive a foundation on which they can build progressive careers in leadership.

Distinguished lecturers recognized as experts in their profession and other exceptional speakers provide the instruction for this class. Specific program objectives are continually evaluated and carefully selected to ensure the program is meeting the needs of leaders in the field. The standard requirements for SLES are to successfully complete a written examination at the conclusion of each week, and preparation of a research paper on a topic relevant to law enforcement supervision.

Ultimately, this innovative four-week training prepares first-line and advanced level supervisors for increased responsibility within their agencies and communities. Two sessions of the School of Law Enforcement Supervision are held yearly. To complete a session, SLES participants meet once a month over a span of four months.

If you wish to attend this session, we are now accepting letters of nomination.  Nominations for this session will close on August 4, 2023. Heads of law enforcement agencies should direct correspondence and letters nominating their candidates to Dr. Cheryl P. May as soon as possible.

If your agency would like to be considered for lodging assistance, it must be indicated in your letter of nomination.

For more information, contact Kimberly Hendricks at (501) 570-8041.
