Roadside Interview Techniques
Every traffic stop presents both an opportunity and a risk. Law enforcement officers routinely encounter unknown circumstances during roadside contacts, making traffic stops one of the most unpredictable and potentially dangerous duties in policing. At the same time, these encounters often serve as valuable opportunities to detect criminal activity, gather intelligence, and strengthen ongoing investigations.
Roadside Interview Techniques is a 7-hour training designed to help officers improve both officer safety and enforcement outcomes during traffic stops. Officers will learn what to look for during their initial approach, how to recognize behavioral indicators, and effective techniques for interviewing drivers and passengers while remaining compliant with current Arkansas law and search and seizure case law.
