Basic Bicycle Patrol for Law Enforcement is Returning in October

Basic Bicycle Patrol for Law Enforcement is a four-day training designed to improve officer safety and performance and is intended for new and untrained police officers who operate bicycles on duty. It’s coming October 6-9 to the Criminal Justice Institute!
Participants will receive hands-on instruction in essential skills such as emergency bicycle operations, patrol tactics, night riding, and real-world scenario-based training. Core competencies include braking, shifting, body positioning, climbing and descending, bike/body separation, and wheel lifts.
The course also covers key elements of crowd and traffic management, equipment selection and packing, and basic bicycle maintenance—including how to perform quick, on-the-go repairs.
If your agency utilizes Bicycle Patrol, this training is an essential step in preparing officers to serve safely and confidently on two wheels.
