CJI’S Latest Course Schedule Features 8 New Classes

The Criminal Justice Institute is pleased to announce our new course schedule for Winter/Spring 2026.
In addition to our online classes, we’re offering more than 75 classroom-based trainings in locations across the State. Utilizing practical, hands-on application, CJI provides an educational experience designed to enhance the performance and professionalism of law enforcement.
Along with many of the traditional programs we offer each year, we will be offering the following NEW classes:
Operation Safe Spot: A School Safety Adventure
January 22 | NWA Education Service Co-op (Farmington)
Operation Safe Spot: A School Safety Adventure is a 4-hour program that introduces emergency readiness in a calm, playful, and empowering way. Framed as a fun version of hide-and-seek, children learn to practice safety without fear. Through stories, games, and guided practice, students gain the tools they need to stay safe and confident through emergencies.
Advanced Digital Photography
March 10-12 | Fayetteville Police Department
The Advanced Crime Scene Photography class is a 21-hour course with emphasis on the realm of digital photography uses in crime scene investigations. This class is a hands-on, intensive class covering forensic digital photography, and is designed to provide the student with an advanced working knowledge of digital photography. The class is broken into lecture, field exercises, and critiques.
Basic Arson Scene Investigation
April 1-3 | Criminal Justice Institute
The purpose of this course is to provide first responding officers with the tools to understand the key role they play in fire scene examination and in preserving and protecting important evidence for any subsequent investigation. The content of the course will provide a clear definition of the role of the first responding officer in arson detection and provide essential knowledge to enable him or her to recognize the potential of intentionally set fires, preservation and protection of evidence, and proper reporting of information to appropriate officials.
Community Champions: Law Enforcement & Youth Led Community Initiatives
April 14 | Criminal Justice Institute
This is a professional development course designed to equip SROs with the knowledge and tools needed to unite youth and law enforcement in meaningful, trust-building partnerships. This course provides SROs with a comprehensive framework for developing youth mentoring and engagement programs that strengthen communication, foster mutual understanding, and promote long-term community well-being.
Dangerous Drug Lab Recognition
April 22-23 | Criminal Justice Institute
With new synthetic drugs becoming more popular such as DMT, PCP, ISO and several others, the manufacturing of these drugs in the U.S. has labs popping up across the country on a regular basis. Patrol officers and investigators need to equip themselves with the knowledge of what the dangers are, how to recognize them, and, most importantly, how to mitigate the threat. Detailed information will be presented on the recognition of all meth lab methods and the proper safety equipment needed to process the lab.
Basic Excel for Law Enforcement

This introductory training is designed to help law enforcement professionals learn the essential tools and features of Microsoft Excel. Discover how to organize data, perform simple analysis, and create clear, helpful spreadsheets that support everyday investigative and administrative tasks. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident working with data sets, managing information, and producing basic reports that strengthen your documentation and decision-making.
Patrol Officer Tactical Entry
June 2 | Criminal Justice Institute
In this one-day course, officers will be instructed and practiced in tactical entry and building clearing techniques as it relates to their daily duties and investigations. This course will provide law enforcement personnel with safe and effective tactics and methodologies. They will be provided with classroom instruction discussing and illustrating tactics, challenges of search teams, planning, synergy, and formations followed by practical entry and building search scenarios.
Social Networking for Law Enforcement
June 17-18 | Criminal Justice Institute
This course is designed to help bring officers and investigators up to speed with the new technology trends and give them practical/applicable tools to conduct online investigations involving social media platforms. Uniform officers can immediately put aspects of the course to work as effectively as detectives or criminal analysts.
