Advanced Traffic Collision Investigation

This 40 hour course will give participants a working knowledge of what evidence and information is needed when arriving at the scene of a traffic crash, and how to safely obtain the needed information without further endangering the safety of themselves or victims. How to transfer evidence and information from traffic crash scenes to reports and diagrams will be covered. Additionally, participants will learn advanced skills in conducting accident investigations that aid in determining contributing factors that lead to the injury or fatality, how to develop a course of action to prevent future problems, and learn the importance of conducting a thorough investigation that will, if necessary, stand up in court. This course is designed for all certified law enforcement officers.
