This program is designed to familiarize officers with the unique challenges they may face in domestic violence situations. Course topics will include: The dynamics of abusive relationships; officer safety concerns; interviews of victims, how to handle suspects, children and other witnesses; reporting; and probable cause leading to arrest and successful conviction. The course will explore proper evidence collection and documentation, as well as civil orders of protection. This course is designed for all certified law enforcement officers.
