This course provides an overview of an effective K-9 program, including its many different uses, training, record keeping, applicable case law, K-9 “101” for the non-handler, and the do’s and don’ts. The instructors will discuss and review several cases that affect the way officers patrol as it relates to criminal interdiction, in general. Finally, the course will examine the complex commercial motor vehicle industry from a criminal interdiction perspective, including indicators to look for in documents such as log books, bills of lading, scale tickets and receipts.
