This seven-hour block of instruction teaches officers the intricacies and nuances of interviewing pedophiles. Given the prevalence of sexual crimes against minors as well as the often high profile and high emotional involvement that are associated with them, it is more important than ever for officers to understand how to evaluate the individual cases and use the details of them to better understand the mind of the suspect. In this course, officers will learn and practice interview tactics and techniques that will aid in efforts to gain a full confession from pedophiles. At the end of this course, participants will have a better understanding of the following: the mind of the pedophile; how to establish interviewing priorities; how to prepare the suspect for confession; how to best overcome denials and objections; how to obtain the confession; and how to clarify guilty knowledge. This class is recommended for all certified law enforcement officers.
