COURSE DESCRIPTION:  The response to, and investigation of, sexual assault crimes requires a victim centered approach as part of an effective investigation.  This course is designed to enable rural officers to better understand the impact of sexual assault upon victims as well as apprehend the offender.

Topics include: Medical Forensic Examination, Alcohol/Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault, Victim Interview, Suspect Interview and Interrogation, and Sexual Assault Report Writing.

Target Audience:  Rural law enforcement officers and investigators

This course is federal grant-funded training and is specifically for rural states and all territories. Also included are rural areas as defined by The Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP).  To determine your eligibility please visit:
