Pressing circumstances may lead police officers to conduct warrantless search and seizures; however, this intrusion on one’s Fourth Amendment rights can often be justified. This six hour course reviews law enforcement encounters that lead to the search and seizure of contraband where the requirements for a search warrant may be over-shadowed by other criteria.  A review of pertinent court cases will be introduced illustrating situations where warrantless searches and seizures may be authorized. Current trends in the law of search and seizure will be discussed.
