Officer Involved Shooting Investigations
Officer involved shootings are being heavily scrutinized in modern day law enforcement by the media, community leaders and activists, as well as the entire criminal justice system. The highly sensitive nature of these investigations require that they are conducted in a very professional and thorough manner leaving no stone unturned. This two-day training course will help officers understand the investigative process and help detectives ensure that they are properly equipped to conduct an officer involved shooting investigation. This training course has proven extremely beneficial for anyone involved in the investigation of an officer involved shooting to include the patrol officers, new and veteran detectives, crime scene personnel, prosecutors, dispatchers, and supervisors who will oversee the investigation. Participants will gain knowledge regarding how to handle and investigate one of the most important type of cases in their careers. Case studies, court decisions, grand jury outcomes and trial outcomes will all be discussed providing the class participants a unique opportunity to study cases from the beginning to their conclusion. This class is recommended for all certified law enforcement officers.
